Solstice -Mind Matters, now operating as Brain, Mind & Memory Centre, has been established since 1992 to meet the needs of families, individuals and couples who want to take ownership of their lives. Nerida strongly believes in the power of the individual and the ability of the individual to overcome what may seem to be insurmountable problems and regain effective control of their lives. She believes a catalyst such as a Psychologist is necessary at times for this process to be nudged along, to empower and direct towards resolution. Dr Rustam Yumash – Managing Director
B. Med, Russia, Dip.Neurology (Russia)
Rustam is a Neurocoach, Neurofeedback Practitioner, Researcher and developer of neuroscience based products and services.
After finishing his degree in medicine, he developed his approach to Mind – Body Somatic Therapy for treating trauma and chronic tension. Rustam’s main interests are in Brain Health & Fitness. His objectives are developing and providing Neuroscience based services and products for enhancing brain performance, cognitive abilities and improved mental health.
Rustam is fluent in Russian.
Dr Louise Olivier – Senior Psychologist

Registered psychologist, psychotherapist, counsellor, educator and trainer, Ms Olivier has over twenty years experience in Australia and USA working with individuals, groups and community organizations. Ms Olivier specializes in a wide range of stress management therapies and conducts classes and courses in personal transformation and lifestyle techniques. Prof Bulent Turman – Clinical Neuroscientist
MD (Ege), PhD (UNSW)
Bulent Turman studied medicine at Ege (Aegean) University which is located in another coastal city, Izmir (Smyrna), in Turkey. He graduated with high distinction average in 1982 and as part of his Compulsory Government Service and National Service worked as a general practitioner for four years.
In 1987, he moved to Sydney and commenced his doctoral study in neurophysiology at the University of New South Wales. His work was based on investigating the functional organisation of cortical somatosensory areas. In 1991, prior to completion of his degree, he took up a lectureship position at the University of Sydney and subsequently received his PhD in 1992. In 2005, he was appointed to Bond University and continued his academic career as Professor of Physiology & Neuroscience.
Currently, Bulent teaches and conducts research at Griffith, Sydney and Ege universities. Having a brain expert of such caliber with interest in neuromodulation and neuroplasticity in Tweed and Southern Gold Coast will help to improve health and lives for many local people and visitors to come to our clinic from all around Australia and overseas.

A/Prof Leon Petchkovsky – Independent Health, Wellness and Fitness Professional
Neuropsychiatrist, Jungian Psychoanalyst, Psychodramatist, neurosciences researcher.
Director, Past President of the Australian and New Zealand Society of Jungian Analysts.
Specialises in Neuropsychoanalysis, Attachment dynamics, Ethnopsychiatry, Psychodrama.
Leon combines life-long experience in “mindfulness” meditation, depth psychotherapy and neuroscience research. Has recently published papers on the fMRI correlates of psychological “complexes” and QEEG changes in depressed patients attending an 8 week choir program.
Works in long-term psychotherapy with people who want a creative approach (dreams, art, music, drama, meditation) that combines with an understanding of attachment dynamics and neurodevelopmental issues.
Leon is also available for tertiary consultations/opinions in difficult and controversial cases, when he can use clinical QEEG and neurofeedback paradigms.
Dr Petchkovsky has been regularly visiting Aboriginal communities in Central Australia over the last 20 years.
Leon is available for consultations on a weekly basis.
Ana Almagro – Provisional Psychologist
BA (Psyc Sc) (hon), MPP
Ana runs the Auditory Processing Training Program. The program used electronically modified music and voice to enhance auditory neural plasticity. It is targeted toward children who have Auditory Processing difficulties; these are often children with an ADHD or ASD diagnosis.
Ana completed Masters of Professional Psychology at University of Southern Queensland after finishing her Bachelors and Honours in Psychological Science at Bond University. Ana interests are in Mindfulness meditation, neuroscience and the brain and the body connection. Ana uses techniques such as Mindfulness, CBT and EMDR with her clients.
Ana is a qualified Cogmed Working Memory Training coach and also trained as Auditory Training Program provider with Martha Mack from The Listen and Learn Centre in Melbourne.
Julie Way & Lorraine Bassett- Reception/Administration
Julie and Lorraine are the front of house at the Brain, Mind & Memory Centre and are the first smiling faces you’ll see as you arrive. As well as first point of contact for clients & professionals Julie and Lorraine are responsible for administrative support across the clinic. Together, they handle the flow of clients, new referrals and customer inquiries, all accounts & billing and all clerical duties. Basically, Julie and Lorraine are our dynamic duo who keep our centre running smoothly
